NSCDC Arrests 45 Suspected Criminals in Kano

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended 45 suspected criminals in Kano State.

The Corps Public Relations Officer in the state, DSC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, confirmed the arrests in a statement released to the press on Friday in Kano.

He stated that 41 of the suspects were detained on October 5th, at around 2 a.m. by the armed squad of the corps during a night patrol in Kano metropolis. Furthermore, he clarified that the remaining four suspects were taken into custody in a club house.

Additionally, Idris-Abdullahi reported that four suspected vandals were captured at Riga Fada and Dan Maliki in Kumbotso Local Government area by the personnel of the Anti Vandalism Unit and local vigilante groups. These individuals were allegedly well-known for being involved in the theft of electric transformer attachments and causing distress in the Riga Fada neighborhood. Their actions resulted in the vandalization of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) equipment worth N1.5 million.

The arrested suspects are presently undergoing profiling for potential legal action. Idris-Abdullahi reiterated that the NSCDC's unwavering commitment to safeguarding and preserving all critical national assets and infrastructure within the state.
