Sola Ogungbe, a 41-year-old manager of SEAP Micro-Finance Bank Saki, reportedly killed himself in his Iseyin residence.

According to reports, Ogungbe provided credit facilities to a number of clients who had payback defaults.

On Wednesday afternoon, a staff member allegedly called Ogungbe's wife since the former manager hadn't shown up to work due to the loan default situation.

When the wife returned home to tell her husband about the call, she discovered his body.

A close friend of the deceased, who requested anonymity, claimed that the man made a mistake by taking his own life rather than talking with his friends about the matter.

He said: “The issue of suicide is becoming alarming, Sola made a great mistake by taking his own life because of debt, if he had shared this issue with his friends, maybe somebody would have come to his aid.

”Everyone is going through one thing or the other but our survival is anchored upon a communal living and friendship, tell people about your issues, you don’t even know who can help you.”

The deceased's remains has been transported to Omu-Aran, Kwara State, for burial.
