
The Blue Line Rail service will facilitate travel between Marina and Mile 2.
During a briefing at the Blue Rail Line Terminal situated in Marina on Tuesday, Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, the Managing Director of the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, shared this exciting news.
She revealed that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, is scheduled to be the inaugural passenger on Monday, with his journey commencing exactly at 9am from the Marina station.
Mrs. Akinajo elaborated on the phased rollout of operations. Starting from Tuesday, September 5, partial passenger services will operate during specific time frames. Morning peak hours, from 6:30am to 10am, and afternoon peak hours, from 4pm to 9:30pm, will mark the designated operational periods.
To initiate the service, Akinajo informed that 12 trips per day will be scheduled for the first two weeks. This initial frequency will subsequently be ramped up to accommodate a total of 76 trips per day.
