To support the work of other security agencies fighting kidnapping, armed robbery, and other associated crimes in the state, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has begun training 7,000 candidates for the Kaduna Vigilance Service.

The governor stated that the 7,000 recruits coming from the state's 23 local government areas were being trained at the Police College in Kaduna, the state capital.

He claimed that following their rigorous and in-depth training, the recruits will support the efforts made by security services to clean up the state's criminal activity.

The governor said, “The Kaduna Vigilance Service is a complementary security outfit. It will assist the security agencies with actionable intelligence. With its knowledge of the local environment, bandits will have no hiding place.”

The governor asserted that the hiring was required due to a lack of regular security personnel throughout the state and that starting the training was a significant step toward keeping his commitment to the people of Kaduna.
