
Journalists in Imo State on the auspices of Guild of Newspaper Reporters, Imo State Chapter, have applauded the state governor, Hope Uzodimma over his achievements especially on roads infrastructure.
The Chairman, Chuks Nwokeji gave the commendations shortly after the body was inaugurated and the executive members sworn in by the state Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma at the council’s secretariat in Owerri, yesterday.
He said, “Today based on our assessment and observations, we wish to applaud our State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for the giant strides his 3R Administration has made in state especially in the construction of solid road projects.”
Nwokeji also commended the state Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba for the manner in which according to him, he has carried out his work, “in projecting and protecting the image of Shared Prosperity Administration of Imo State Governor, Dist Senator Hope Uzodimma.”
Earlier in his inaugural speech, Nwokeji promised to give the Guild a facelift in line with ethics of the profession while assuring that his led executive will lead with a human face as well as carry everybody along in the scheme of things.
He equally tasked the members to brace up for the task ahead, stating that there is a lot of beneficial works to be carried out for the betterment of the guild.
Inaugurating the Guild, Nwanguma the formation and inauguration of the guild become necessary to ensure sanity in the profession in the state as well as guarantee responsible and responsive leadership in the body.
The members of the newly inaugurated Executive Members are; Chuks Nwokeji, Chairman, Austin Echereozo Vice Chairman, Ikechukwu Ndumele, Secretary, Kachi Madukaego, Assistant Secretary, Onyiyechi Amakaulo, Treasurer, Goddy Chuks Anyanwu, Ex Official 1and Ike Nwosu Ex Official 2.
