This three-year partnership with IHS Nigeria will pave the way for the creation of learning communities in all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). These communities will serve as hubs where Nigerians involved in the 3MTT initiative can convene on a weekly basis to learn, collaborate, and work on various projects.
In a statement issued by Ekaete Umo, the Head of Press and Public Relations at the ministry, it was made clear that IHS Nigeria's role in this partnership extends beyond financial support. The company will also contribute industry expertise, further enriching the initiative's potential for success.
The Minister of Communications, Innovations & Digital Economy, Dr. 'Bosun Tijani, expressed his appreciation for IHS Nigeria's funding in a LinkedIn post.
He noted how this financial support will be a significant boost to the ministry's ongoing efforts to foster a robust pipeline of technical talent within the country.
He said, “I am excited to announce a N1 Billion partnership between the @FMoCDE and IHS Towers to establish the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Learning Community.
“This initiative, which is in support of our recently launched 3MTT programme, will facilitate the set up of learning communities in the 36 states and the FCT. The N1billion funding from IHS Towers also includes a commitment to paying the salaries of 37 dedicated learning community managers for each location for the next 3 years.”
