
Emmanuel Popoola, a 30-year-old man, was apprehended by Osun Amotekun operatives for allegedly stealing phones. The arrest took place in Ikirun town, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the arrest, Amotekun Corps Commander Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi stated that the suspect, a Modakeke native, was also a former convict.
He said, "The suspect, known for stealing phones, was captured by Osun Amotekun Corps in Ikirun after a complaint was lodged at the Amotekun Ifelodun command regarding his activities."
Adewinmbi continued, "The operatives acted swiftly, apprehending him in the process of selling the stolen phones.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a previous convict, having been imprisoned for the same offense. He has been stealing phones in Modakeke and selling them in other towns.
The Nigeria Police had sought him for the same crime."
"Recovered items include seven SIM cards of various networks, a black Infinix Hot phone with two SIM cards, another Infinix Hot black phone with one SIM card, a golden casing for a Techno Pop 3, a blue casing for a Techno Spark, along with two more SIM cards and an ATM card."
Adewinmbi noted, "The suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution."
