The Federal Capital Territory's High Court in Abuja has postponed making a decision on the bail request of suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele until July 13, 2023.

After hearing arguments from each party involved in the case, Justice Hamza Muazu, the presiding judge, issued the order.

Through his attorney, Emefiele is contesting the DSS's detention of him and his restriction of access to his family and legal counsel.

Godwin Emefiele's bail application was challenged by attorneys for the Department of State Services and the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation.

Emefiele poses a flight risk, according to the respondents, who testified before the court.

Counsel for the respondents similarly contended that the suspended CBN Governor was being held on.

The chief magistrates court of the Federal Capital Territory ordered the detention of the suspended CBN Governor, according to the respondents' legal counsel.
