Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today announced he met with King Charles III of England with a view to strengthening the partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom (UK).
The President disclosed this in a statement on X ahead of the COP28 Climate Action Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Tinubu wrote, “I had a productive meeting with His Majesty, King Charles III of England who is also the Head of the Commonwealth and a passionate climate advocate.”
“The meeting was a significant step in strengthening the partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.”
Similarly, he added that he is very much optimistic about the positive impact the joint efforts Nigeria and the UK will have on the planet’s future.
President Tinubu added that Nigeria and the United Kingdom look forward to setting an equitable global standard for environmental stewardship at COP28.
The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly referred to as COP28, will be the 28th edition.
The conference will be held from 30 November until 12 December 2023 at Expo City, Dubai.
COP28 UAE will be a milestone moment when the world will take stock of its progress on the Paris Agreement.
