The NBA firmly maintains that Tinubu is the rightful victor of the 2023 presidential election, a declaration made by INEC, thus establishing his legitimacy as President.

NBA stands by its stance on the legality of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidency, emphasizing that it is incorrect to label him an illegitimate president as long as INEC's declaration remains unchallenged in court. This assertion was part of the communique presented during the 63rd annual NBA conference in Abuja.

The President of the NBA, Mr. Yakubu Mailyau, dismissed claims that Tinubu's presidency is illegitimate until the pending petitions challenging his victory are resolved in his favor by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), as reported by Daily Nigerian.

Regarding the controversy surrounding President Tinubu's visit to the Presidential Villa, Maikyau, the NBA President, stated that it was unwarranted since his actions did not breach the constitution. Maikyau emphasized that President Tinubu's presence in the Villa was in accordance with constitutional processes and not of his own accord.

In response to speculations, a faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo suggested that Nigeria's northern region might oppose President Bola Tinubu if the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) calls for a rerun.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary General of the Chidi Ibeh-led Ohanaeze faction, claimed that northern political leaders are expressing dissatisfaction with the Tinubu administration."
