The 10-year-old pupil of Corona School, Gbagada, Lagos, secured the grand prize of $5,000 by outshining 782,852 other contestants from 90 countries.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is an annual event organized by Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan, for schoolchildren worldwide. It challenges them to illustrate their dream cars along with an inspirational concept.

Odumuboni's winning drawing featured a waste converter, stating the idea of supporting countries, particularly African communities, in food production and environmental cleanliness which was deemed the best globally.

In addition to the $5,000 prize money, he was presented with a trophy and certificate at a ceremony organized by Toyota Nigeria Limited in Lagos on behalf of Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan. His school, Corona, received a $10,000 prize, which was designated exclusively for educational purposes. Furthermore, Odumuboni's art teacher, Mr. Ojeagbega Oserogho, was awarded a laptop.

Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo, the Managing Director of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited, expressed great excitement and pride at Odumuboni's achievement. He highlighted that Odumuboni's unique and inspirational idea, conveyed through a creative drawing, earned him the global grand prize, surpassing competition from more than 782,852 contestants in 90 countries and regions.

Ade-Ojo also noted that while the parent company, Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan, initiated the contest in 2004, Toyota Nigeria embraced it four years later as a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at enabling children to express their imaginative visions of future cars through art.
