Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old gospel singer, has been remanded in custody following the brutal murder of 24-year-old Salome Adaidu.

Ajayi was apprehended by police near a church while allegedly carrying Adaidu's severed head.

In a recent interview, he expressed no remorse for his actions, claiming that the killing stemmed from feelings of betrayal after discovering her infidelity through her phone.

Ajayi stated that the incident was not premeditated, claiming that it occurred spontaneously during a moment of emotional turmoil. He justified his actions by suggesting that relationships should be reciprocal and that he felt justified in his response to what he perceived as betrayal.

In stark contrast, Adaidu's family has vehemently denied any romantic involvement between her and Ajayi. Her elder sister, Esther Adaidu, expressed disbelief at the suspect's claims, stating they had never known him before the tragedy.

The family is demanding justice, highlighting the gruesome nature of the crime, which involved dismemberment.

The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that Ajayi will face prosecution. They have called for any additional complaints against him to be reported as part of their ongoing inquiries.
