The family of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has announced that a private autopsy and toxicology report to determine the cause of his death is now complete.
This development comes in the wake of ongoing controversies surrounding Mohbad's passing in 2023, which has sparked widespread public interest and calls for justice.
Mohbad's death has been a subject of intense scrutiny, leading to protests both online and offline as fans and supporters demand clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding his demise.
The singer's family sought an independent autopsy due to concerns over the initial findings from a government-conducted autopsy, which was deemed inconclusive. In June 2024, the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, granted permission for the family to conduct their own investigation into the matter.
According to reports, the private autopsy results have been available since December 2024. A source close to the family indicated that the findings are currently with a forensic pathologist who will present them in court.
This independent examination was initiated amidst allegations of suspicious circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death, which have fueled ongoing debates and questions among fans and the public.
The controversies surrounding Mohbad's passing have also led to familial disputes, particularly regarding his son Liam. Mohbad's father, Joseph Aloba, has been vocal about his desire for a DNA test to be conducted on Liam, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability within the family following this tragic loss.
Additionally, figures from Mohbad’s past, including his former label boss Naira Marley and associate Sam Larry, were briefly detained during investigations related to his death.
As news of the completed autopsy circulates, a mix of anticipation and frustration among social media fans eager for answers. Many are calling for the results to be disclosed publicly and those responsible to be held accountable.
