Aniekan James has been detained by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on allegations of murdering his 35-year-old son, Odudu James.
This information was released over the weekend while the suspect and 268 other people arrested for various offenses were being paraded by the state's commissioner of police, Olatoye Durosinmi.
The CP reported that Ukanafun Division officers arrested the suspect on June 16, 2023. Aniekan had murdered numerous persons in Lagos and Abia states, the police commissioner claimed.
“On June 16, 2023, one Aniekan James of Ikot Ndot village in Ukanafun LGA was arrested by the Ukanafun division for shooting his 35-year-old only son, Odudu James, who had been having a war of words with him. The suspect is alleged to be a habitual murderer who has committed murders in Lagos and Aba states,” the Commissioner stated.
