Nigerian self-acclaimed relationship coach Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, announced she has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
She made this known in a post via her verified Facebook and Instagram handle on Wednesday.
Breaking down in tears, Blessing CEO, showed how cancer has been causing her hair loss.
Reacting to the incident, many Nigerians took to social media to sympathise with her, while others questioned the credibility of the news, saying Blessing is known for controversy.
@tolatheenigma wrote, “Even if I don’t like her on these social media platforms, I’m saying my prayers for her and hoping all goes well for her.”
@aibnginc, in a tweet, said, "Please, she may be serious. Let’s be friendly, please.”
@Lifeinsolance noted, “Blessing didn't even say she has cancer. She just said "stage 4", and everyone concluded it was cancer. She was just chasing clout."
@ArsenaSkendrick wrote, “Stage 4 cancer, you should be in a hospital receiving treatment like chemotherapy and not crying in front of a camera.”
Similarly, popular social media commentator VeryDarkMan has publicly challenged Blessing CEO’s stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis report, stating her story lacks credible evidence.
In a video shared across his social platforms, VDM stated that the Blessing CEO's tearful Instagram video provided no medical documentation or proof of treatment, warning that using cancer for emotional appeal trivialises a life-threatening illness.
He also referenced Blessing CEO's past controversies, including a 2019 incident where she falsely claimed ownership of a house, leading to her arrest.
The relationship coach, via another video posted on her Facebook handle, cautioned against judging people based on their past, stating, "Vdm, you shouldn’t go to people's past because you also have a past. We grow, we learn and we unlearn. If we judge you by your past, no one will associate with you."
She also addressed demands for her to release medical evidence online, insisting on her right to privacy despite public scrutiny. Blessing said: “I cannot put out my medical report on social media because it is my privacy; all my friends have seen the report."
