Tinubu Working to Revive Battered Economy, Says Akume

Says the economic hardships being faced by the citizens at this moment are temporary.

Sen. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, has assured Nigerians of the determination of President Bola Tinubu to review the nation’s economy which he said had been battered.


Akume, who spoke at a Thanksgiving Mass organized in his honour by St. Augustine Catholic Tiv Community, Abuja Archdiocese at Nyanya, Abuja, yesterday, said the president inherited a distressed economy.

He, however, assured that the president was working to revamp the economy for all Nigerians.

The SGF stressed that the present government had taken some critical and hard decisions that would ultimately benefit the ordinary people across Nigeria.

“President Tinubu means well for the country and he is aware of the challenges facing the citizens at the moment.


“Economic hardships being faced by the citizens at this moment are temporary. Government is working assiduously to end the current sufferings of the masses,” Akume stated.

He added that, Tinubu’s government is committed to the wellbeing of all citizens and will continue to do all within the ambit of the law to improve the living standard of Nigerians.
