Tinubu Praises NDDC for Completing Niger Delta Projects

President Bola Tinubu has commended the current leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for completing projects that were started and abandoned by previous administrations.

Tinubu, who was represented by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, made the commendation while commissioning the first phase and flagging off the second phase of the Iko-Atabrikang-Akata-Opolom-Okoroutip-Iwouchang Road in Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State

The President congratulated the NDDC Governing Board for being the first since the creation of the commission in 2000 to remain united, focused, and commission projects that directly impact the lives of people in the region.

He expressed delight that since the current governing board took office, it has been undertaking projects that were started and abandoned by previous administrations.

Tinubu called on the NDDC to consider empowerment programs for the youths and women to enable them to survive the hardship brought upon them as a result of oil exploration. He assured the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, that the federal government would support him to succeed.

Governor Umo Eno, who was represented by his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, appreciated the management of the NDDC for the completion of the road project.

The Managing Director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, said that since the assumption of duties by the current Executive management, it has been a driving force to complete visible projects across the nine states of the region.

He stated that the most compelling need for this administration has been to complete these projects to serve urgent needs in the communities and help in renewing hope in the people in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Paramount Ruler of Ibeno Local Government Area, HRM Owong Effiong Archianga (JP), expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Managing Director and Board members of the NDDC for completing the road project.
