Suspected terrorists reportedly murdered some people from Kakangi and Ungwan Matinja communities in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State in a fresh attack on the state.

The current incident occurred on Thursday morning and comes about a week after bandits murdered three people within the Kakangi constituency.

Members of a Vigilante group tragically lost their lives during a confrontation with the terrorists who also kidnapped the village heads of Kakangi and Kisaya from the Kakangi ward.

Verifying the incident with journalists, Kaduna police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, affirmed that a combined team of police operatives is working together and has been sent to the areas impacted.

The Police PRO noted that the Command is still gathering news from the Divisional Police Officer in Birnin-Gwari to know the exact number of casualties due to the poor GSM network in Birnin-Gwari and environs.

Mohammed Amin, a community leader, informed newsmen that the vigilantes were ambushed and attacked by the terrorists while they were trailing the abducted victims, who were kidnapped on their way to a burial between Kakangi and Sabon Layi.

He also revealed that the vigilantes equally killed some of the terrorists, while the terrorists at large succeeded in taking the two traditional rulers away.
