Taraba Govt Applauds Nigerian Army for Improved Security
The Taraba State Government, led by Governor Agbu Kefas, had appreciated the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army's unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the state.
The appraisal was made during the 2024 Combined Headquarters 6 Brigade Nigerian Army West African Social Activities (WASA) event, which took place on Wednesday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo metropolis.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps, while commenting on behalf of the governor, expressed gratitude for the Brigade’s efforts in tackling insecurity.
He highlighted the government’s dedication to assisting the Brigade’s operations throughout 2025. “The government deeply commends the commitment and professionalism of the 6 Brigade in ensuring the safety of our communities,” Kataps said.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), emphasised the importance of the WASA celebration.
He described the event as an occasion for introspection on the Brigade's accomplishments over the past year, while concurrently commending the troops for their unwavering fortitude and professional conduct.
“Despite facing serious security issues, we were able to minimize threats as much as possible through our dedication and professional approach," General Uwa said.
He also expressed gratitude for the state government's assistance, especially in providing extra logistics to improve operations.
Uwa promised the people of Taraba State of the Brigade's Steadfast commitment to its mission of safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and assisting civil authorities.
