The Osun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to prioritize governance over entertainment, criticizing his involvement in dancing and merry-making while pressing issues remain unresolved in the state.

This comes in response to claims by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the APC is envious of the governor's remarkable performance within a short time in office.

In a statement issued by APC chairman Kola Olabisi, the governor's behavior, particularly his dancing and twerking session at a hotel in Lagos, was condemned as a "show of shame" that tarnished the state's reputation.

The statement highlighted concerns over the delay in paying civil servants and retirees, despite increased revenue allocation from the Federal Government.

The statement further questioned the governor's priorities, citing instances where significant funds remained unaccounted for, including over N200 billion in federal allocation and N14 billion inherited from the previous administration.

It raised doubts about the governor's commitment to addressing critical issues faced by the state, such as unpaid wages and inadequate palliative measures.

In response, Osun PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi dismissed the APC's criticisms as a sign of desperation, attributing them to the overwhelming success of Governor Adeleke's administration.

He accused the APC of resorting to propaganda and misinformation to undermine the governor's achievements, citing completed infrastructure projects and prudent financial management as evidence of his administration's effectiveness.

Bisi criticized the APC for its failure to deliver during its tenure and called for a more constructive approach to opposition activism.

The exchange between the two parties underscores the political tension in Osun State and highlights the contrasting narratives surrounding Governor Adeleke's leadership and the opposition's response.
