The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Thursday, criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s call urging state governors to donate lands to end the farmer-herder crisis.

The separatist group promised never to allow South-East governors to hand over Igbo ancestral lands in a bid to resolve the crisis.

Recall that the President had promised to end the crisis in three weeks if state governors donated lands.

Commenting, IPOB’s spokesperson, Mr Emma Powerful, noted that the South-East is a “no-go area” for Fulani herdsmen.

A press release made available by Powerful read: “The attention of the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the call by  the President to the governors to make provision land in each state for Fulani ranching.

“IPOB regards such as careless, and a disrespect to the indigenous people, who have been slaughtered by the same foreign plundering Fulani terrorists nicknamed herdsmen.

Nigerian dailies on March 14 reported what could be considered as the most reckless and thoughtless call by President Tinubu during a political inauguration of his Agricultural Programme in Niger State. The report noted that Tinubu asked the governors to provide land to the Fulani for RUGA and ranches in the contraption called Nigeria. Perhaps President Tinubu has forgotten that political campaigns were careless promises made to win elections.

The current plea for the state governors to provide land to the murderous Fulani that have committed massacre against the indigenous peoples in Nigeria is thoughtless, careless, and is emboldening of the herdsmen terrorists", the statement read.
