Some Nigerians have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the designs of the new kits for the Super Eagles after Nike officially unveiled them on Monday.

The jerseys, revealed in a video on Nike's social media page, put an end to earlier leaks and will be worn by the Eagles during their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

For the first time, the team will wear white as their home kit, with the traditional green jersey now serving as the away kit. The new home jersey features green-white-green tape on the sleeves and shorts, with a faded eagle design on the front.

Notably, the jerseys do not feature the Eagles logo on the shirts, which instead appears on the shorts. Nike's logo is in red, a departure from the usual color scheme.

The jerseys also have square-shaped necklines and the inscription 'Naija' on them.

Some fans criticized the 'Naija' inscription, with one user stating that it does not promote Nigeria as a country and makes the jersey look poorly made.

Others expressed disappointment at the lack of green in the design, as well as the use of red for Nike's logo.

Some felt that the jerseys did not reflect Nigerian symbols, culture, or identity. Overall, there was a sentiment that Nike had missed the mark with the design, with calls for a redesign before mass production.
