Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged the citizens to pray for peace and stability in the country.

The President made this known when he joined the Muslim faithful at the State House Mosque for the Ramadan Tafsir (explanation of the Holy Qur’an) on Tuesday.

Announcing the opening of the annual Tafsir, Tinubu appealed to the Muslim faithful to show kindness to one another including their neighbors while also assisting the less privileged in our society.

We appreciate Almighty Allah for allowing us to see another holy month of Ramadan. We thank Allah for sparing us through the elections and giving us the opportunity to be Nigerians.

Yes, things are hard, but Allah has ordained us to make self sacrifices, to control our- selves, assist others, and be kind to ourselves..

May the Almighty God, who gave us this golden opportunity, strengthen our resolve; help us change our country, Nigeria and extend our love to our neighbors.

We encounter problems of abduction,Terrorism and others. May Allah have mercy on us all, the dead, and put confidence in our good deeds.

“May he give us the power and good health to survive the month of Ramadan and to continue in good faith to praise him. I urge everyone to continue to pray for Nigeria,” says Tinubu.

He informed the Ulamas that God has given them the understanding, knowledge, and the heart to teach others, stressing the essence of teaching forgiveness, patience, and tolerance to the faithful, and also sharing their blessings with their neighbors.

It is in our hearts to make sacrifices and distribute whatever we have with our brothers and sisters. Be generous and humble enough. The sacrifice that this moment teaches us is enough. May Allah grant us the privilege and the strength; not the power of starvation but the strength of character and attitude to love our country and make Nigeria great. As-Salaam-Alaikum,”  President Tinubu prayed.
