President Tinubu Promises Nigerians food security

The Nigeria President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu affirms his government is revolutionizing agriculture to make the country self-reliant in food production and a net exporter of farm products.


Tinubu made the revelation on Sunday after receiving a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, at the Presidential Villa, FCT, Abuja.

He equally noted that his government would support plans and efforts to give ease and assistance to Hajj pilgrims.

President Tinubu stressed the importance of spiritual endeavors in building a nation, highlighting his administration’s dedication to supporting religious activities.

He emphasized the need for partnership between political and spiritual leaders to advance the nation’s interests and promote peace, unity among Nigerians.

Concerning agriculture, the President defined plans to bolster agricultural productivity through different initiatives, including the enlargement of farmlands, provision of low-interest loans to farmers and investments in irrigation infrastructure.

He said, “We are dedicated to providing hospitals with advanced equipment, providing professional healthcare personnels with training, and ensuring social welfare for all Nigerians, as well as comprehensive health insurance coverage.

“Nigeria will become a net-exporter of food. We are bringing thousands of tractors. Food production will be greatly improved through aggressive instrument mechanization. Nigerians must be productive as a people. That is the Sunnah and the truth I grew up understanding.

President Tinubu applauded the Global Tijaniyya Movement for their support and prayers, stressing the significance of teamwork in building a better Nigeria.

Niass, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya, speaking on behalf of the delegation, lauded Tinubu for his unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s peace, progress, and stability.

He expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and conveyed the fervent support and prayers of members of the Global Tijaniyya Movement to the Nigerian leader.

The delegation during their visit, offered prayers for the nation’s progress, prosperity and unity, and for Almighty Allah to grant Tinubu wisdom, strength and success.
