President Tinubu Appoints New Board of Bank of Industry
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has authorised the appointment of new management into the board of the Bank of Industry Limited, BOIL.
A press statement made available by the presidential spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, noted that the President appointed Dr. Mansur Muhtar as the Chairman and Dr. Olasupo Olusi as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the 13-member board.
The press release also noted that Mrs. Ifeoma Uz’Okpala is the Executive Director, Large Enterprises; Mr. Usen Effiong, Executive Director, Corporate Services; Mr. Shekarau Omar, Executive Director, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises; Mr. Rotimi Akinde, Executive Director, Corporate Finance & Risk Management; and Ms. Mabel Ndagi, Executive Director, Public Sector & Intervention Programmes.
Others include Mallam Tajudeen Datti Ahmed, non-executive director, representing the Ministry of Finance Incorporated; Reverend Isaac Adefemi Agoye, non-executive, representing the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria; Mallam Muhammad Bala, non-executive, representing the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment; and Mr. Adedamola Olufemi Young, non-executive director, representing the Central Bank of Nigeria; Mr. Sulaiman Musa Kadira, independent non-executive director; and Mr. Oreoluwa Adeyemi, independent non-executive director.
It further explained that Dr. Muhtar's extensive career includes decades of experience in finance, international development, public service, and academia.
Prior to his recent appointment, Dr. Muhtar served as the Minister of Finance, Budget, and Economic Development from 2008 to 2010. Before that, he was the Vice President, Operations of the Islamic Development Bank.
“The President expects the new board of the Bank of Industry to work cooperatively, diligently, and with complete loyalty to the nation. He wants them to focus on the bank's mission of promoting development by supporting projects that create jobs, reduce poverty, and improve the socio-economic conditions of Nigerian families.” it stated.
