Police Nab Suspected Cultist, Recover Arms in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has announced the arrest of a notorious cultist, Samuel Nwokoma, aged 25, implicated in multiple killings and armed robberies in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt and other parts of the state. 

According to Grace Iringe-Koko, the Rivers State police spokesperson, Nwokoma and his gang were responsible for the deaths of two individuals in the Diobu area between March 14 and 17, 2024. 

Ede Sunday, aged 32, was fatally shot on Nanka Street on March 14, while George Johnson, aged 28, was shot in the chest on Ojoto Street two days later. 

Nwokoma was apprehended following intelligence gathered by the C4i Strike Force of the command and a local vigilante, leading to a raid on the hideout of the "Blood Star" cult gang. 

During the operation, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, including three AK-47 rifles, one assault rifle, various rounds of live ammunition, improvised explosive devices, and charms. 

Following Nwokoma's arrest, efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining gang members who fled during the police operation.
