The Nasarawa State Police Command Acting on credible intelligence apprehended a 30-year-old woman in Keffi, Keffi local government area, after discovering 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition concealed in a gallon of palm oil.
The woman, Hauwa Sani, and a two-year-old baby were said to be from Doro village in Katsina State.
According to a statement issued on Saturday in Lafia by the command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Rahman Nansel, the woman received ammunition from the Rafin Sanyi Village, located in Doma local government area of Nasarawa State but was caught on her way back to Katsina.
Along with the ammunition, the authorities recovered a Tecno mobile phone and ₦78,500 in cash.
The police are currently probing further into the origins and intended destination of the ammunition.
