Police Arrest Seven Alleged Cultists, Recover Firearms in Kaduna

The Police Command in Kaduna State says its operatives have apprehend seven alleged cultists and recovered firearms in the state.

ASP Mansir Hassan, the command's Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna.

As the command continues to make tremendous progress towards the goal of justice and safety for all residents, Hassan believes that the arrest is a serious blow to the state's criminal networks.

He continued by saying that the command had made another outstanding accomplishment, seizing illegal firearms, recovering suspicious material suspected to be blood, and apprehending seven suspected cultists.

He clarified that intelligence from a trustworthy source served as the initiator for the operation, which was carried out on April 6.

''Police officers acted quickly after receiving information, responding to allegations of strange activity in the rugged and steep Dumbi area near the Kaduna-Zaria expressway, at approximately 03:00 hours.''

''Seven people were taken into custody during the operation, while others got away. Among the items that were taken from the suspects were a Lexus car, two handguns, and a 30-liter jerrycan filled with what seemed to be blood.'' He said.

He claimed that Ali Audu, the state commissioner of police, had praised the community's cooperation and alertness in giving vital intelligence that made the operation successful.

He reaffirmed the command's dedication to apprehending criminal elements and guaranteeing the security and safety of the state's citizens. Hassan went on to say that efforts were presently being made to capture the remaining suspects who escaped.

Anyone with pertinent information is urged by the command to help bring the suspects to justice.
