
The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended Yusuf Adenoyin in Isua, the headquarters of Akoko South-East Local Government Area, for possessing eight human skulls.
According to the state's Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the arrest occurred on Wednesday when officers from the Police Safer Highway Patrol stopped a Nissan Salon car at the Isua/Epinmi checkpoint. Upon searching the vehicle, one passenger fled but was subsequently captured by the police.
During the search, officers found eight dry human skulls, fresh human flesh, and charms concealed in a garri sack among Adenoyin's belongings.
The police are continuing their investigation to identify and arrest other accomplices involved in the case.
Additionally, Odunlami reported the arrest of three individuals in Akure for their involvement in robbery activities.
The suspects, identified as Uche Onu, Ekene Okorie, and Celestine Eze, were apprehended based on intelligence. They confessed to participating in a robbery where a Scania truck with registration number JJJ 701 YE, valued at N12,000,000 and 61 empty 50kg gas cylinders were stolen, and a police constable was injured during the incident.
Okorie, who drove the stolen truck, led detectives to Emmanuel Okike, who purchased the stolen gas cylinders for N36,000 each, totaling N2,256,000.
The payments were made to Tochukwu Obi and Desmond Orjiakor. The stolen truck was recovered in Benin City, Edo State, and the gas cylinders were found with Okike in Lagos State.
Francis Okafor is currently detained at SCID, Benin City, in connection with another armed robbery case. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend Ezeego, who remains at large. The three suspects will be charged in court following the conclusion of the investigation.
