Otti Pays Fees of Abia Students Abandoned in Indian University

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has accepted the to fund studies of Abia students studying at an Indian university, SRI SAI.

According to report, the students were abandoned by the previous administration in the state.

The governor also made changes to his media team, letting go of Chief Press Secretary Mr. Kazie Uko and appointing Mr. Ukoha Njoku as his replacement.

The State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, who revealed this in Umuahia noted that the replacement of Uko was part of Otti’s plan to rejig the media team of his government.

The Commissioner explained that the Governor appointed a new Chief Press Secretary to strengthen his administration's communication team. The new appointee has a lot of experience in advocacy and media management.

The State Executive Council noted the case of Abia students at SRI SAI University in India who were abandoned by the previous administration and approved the funding of their eduction to cover their fees and allow them to continue their studies.

Kalu also revealed that Otti has approved the payment of bursaries to Abia students in various law schools in Nigeria.

“In the same vein, His Excellency approved the payment of bursaries to Abia students in different law schools in the country. Recall that once, we mentioned to you that His Excellency has approved that those payments be made. It has actually been made now.”
