
The Osun State Government has constituted a 100-member panel to address recurring land disputes between Ifon and Ilobu communities in Orolu and Irepodun local government areas.
The boundary crisis has led to violent clashes, resulting in loss of lives and destruction of property. The Land Crisis Resolution Committee, chaired by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, and Justice Moshood Adeigbe, Chairman of the Osun State Boundary Commission, aims to find a lasting solution.
State Commissioner for Information and Civic Engagement, Kolapo Alimi, announced that the panel includes 25 representatives each from Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun, with an additional 25 members representing the state government.
Governor Ademola Adeleke initiated the committee to resolve the crisis and will formally inaugurate it on Tuesday at the Government Secretariat, Abere.
