Osun Amotekun Commander Assures Security Amid Nationwide Protests

As the #EndBadGovernance protests commenced nationwide on Monday, Dr. Hon. Adekunle Omoyele, Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, has assured residents of Osun State of the adequacy of security measures to protect lives and properties.

During an interview on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Amotekun Headquarters in Osogbo, Omoyele urged residents not to panic amidst the nationwide protests against hardship in Nigeria. He emphasized that the State Governor, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Adeleke, along with all Security Chiefs, had met with the concerned youths and stakeholders to ensure the protests remain peaceful and free of chaos or violence.

"The Governor and the Security Chiefs have engaged with the youths, who have assured us that the protests will be peaceful," Omoyele stated.

He assured residents that Amotekun operatives were on standby to respond to any potential breakdown of law and order in the state.

Omoyele also advised residents to promptly report any security breaches to Amotekun or other security agencies to ensure swift action.

"We are committed to maintaining peace and security in Osun State. Residents should feel confident in our preparedness to handle any situation that may arise," he concluded.
