

Ondo State police detectives have taken Ogunleye Ayorinde, a 23-year-old motorcycle rider, into custody on charges of rape and armed robbery.
Around 7:30 p.m., the suspect sexually assaulted a young lady who got on his commercial motorcycle near Owo road toward Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State.
The young girl was allegedly led to an uncompleted building by him, where he sexually assaulted her after threatening her with a knife.
A police source said: “He also collected her Android phone and forced her to transfer N120,000 from her savings account to one O’Pay account.
The man was later taken into custody by Okuta-Elerinla division police detectives through his mobile number.
Command spokesperson Funmi Odunlami says that, the suspect has admitted to committing the act following a comprehensive investigation by police investigators, the suspect will soon be charged in court.
In another development, 11 alleged armed robbers attacked Chidi Chukwu, a businessman, with cutlasses, hammers, and other hazardous weapons.
He was robbed of his TVS motorcycle, blue in color with the license plate BDL 082 VL, at Muslim Secondary School in Oke Aro, Akure.
Sources claim that during the incident, the businessman's right hand was macheted.
Bode Hammed, 37, and Ayomide Adebayo, 25, two of the accused, were later taken into custody.
As detectives hunt after other individuals, police image maker Funmi Odunlami stated that the accused would soon face charges in court.
