A sudden crash of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration portal on Saturday night has left thousands of prospective members stranded in Cross River State.

The portal, which was opened on June 8, 2024, crashed less than 12 hours later, leaving those trying to enroll confused.

The NYSC headquarters issued a statement on June 10, 2024, apologizing for the disruption and explaining that the crash was caused by a "conflict on link in between NIMC access to NYSC's database."

The statement noted that the technical crew had made additional changes to the infrastructure, which necessitated the temporary disablement of access to batch "B" prospective corps members' registration to prevent further complications.

The statement also cautioned prospective corps members to desist from ascribing fault to accredited cyber café operators (CBOS) for the delay and recommended that CBOS provide an additional layer of security for their accounts to prevent unauthorized use.

As of Monday evening, the portal remained inaccessible, leaving many prospective corps members still stranded. The NYSC has extended the registration period, which will officially reflect on the registration portal once technical issues are resolved.
