The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, is actively seeking information from the public regarding the parents or relatives of a young child discovered wandering in the Owode-Ede area.

According to a statement by command spokesperson Kehinde Adeleke, the boy, estimated to be under two years old, was found by a passerby returning from church early Saturday morning.

Adeleke stated, "A boy whose age cannot be ascertained but close to 2 years was found in Owode-Ede Area on Saturday 24/2/2024 by a man coming from a night vigil around 5:10am."

Despite concerted efforts to locate his family, including announcements at a local mosque and at the palace of the Olu of Owode-Ede, no one has come forward to claim him.

Adeleke mentioned, "He was also taken to Owode Ede’s palace for whoever was looking for a missing child to identify and claim him, but nobody has shown up yet." Consequently, the NSCDC has taken custody of the child.

Adeleke emphasized, "The boy is now in the custody of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command, Ido Osun, Osun State."

The command urges anyone with information or proof of a missing child to promptly contact their state headquarters in Ido Osun.
