NSCDC Imo Command Decorates its 150 Newly Promoted Officers

Ovye cautioned the promoted officials to step up their efforts to combat crime for more effective service delivery.

The Nigerian Security of Civil Defence Corps Imo state Chapter, decorates its 150 promoted officials.

The decoration was performed on Thursday, June 22,  at the command’s headquarters in Owerri by the command’s commandant, Mr. Matthew Ovye.

According to reports, two officers were promoted from the rank of Assistant Commandant (AC) to the rank of Deputy Commandant (DC); 21 officers from Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) to AC and 15 officers from Superintendent of Corps (SC) to CSC, among others.

Ovye, while commending the corps, cautioned them to step up their efforts to combat crime for more effective service delivery to make Imo happier and safer for legitimate companies.

He advised officers who had not yet received promotions to maintain their faith and not to give up because their promotions will arrive in due course.

Additionally, he complimented Ahmed Abubakar-Audi, the Commandant-General (C-G), for his dedication to the welfare and inspiration of the corps’ troops, which was demonstrated by the advancement of officers and men.

“I urge everyone who is celebrating to see this promotion as an extra obligation and to recommit yourself to duty as a result.

“I urge you to join the C-G’s campaign to rejig, revamp, resuscitate, reinvigorate, and structure the corps,” he asserted.

However, Mr. Aliyu Ndanusa, an Assistant Commandant-General and the Corps Zonal Commander for Zone “E,” also gave the promoted officers advice on how to best justify their promotions by reaffirming their commitment to, among other fundamental duties, crisis management and the protection of important national assets.

Also, Mr. Udo Uko, the Zone “E” Commandant of the corps, and the heads of Imo’s security organizations attended the ceremony.
