A comic Nollywood actor, Oyebamiji Tolani Quadri, otherwise known by his stage name Sisi Quadri, has passed on. It was gathered that he died on Friday at the age of 44.
He was said to have had persistent hiccups, which were brought about by a kidney-related ailment while in his hometown in Iwo, Osun State. News of his death surfaced on social media on Friday, March 1.
It was gathered that the Yoruba chapter of the Nigerian movie industry has been thrown into a state of mourning after the news of Sisi Quadri's death surfaced on social media via the instagram handle of the President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAM), Bolaji Amusan aka Mr Latin, who confirmed the news with a short caption, “Hmm may God grant him eternal rest”.
Some of the respondents to the information on some Nollywood platforms revealed that the actor had been battling with kidney problems for some time and it may be the cause of his death.
Quadri, according to reports, was well known for his roles in the Yoruba sector of the Nigerian movie industry. He was a famous actor in mainly Yoruba epic films, and eminent for his effete voice and gestures. He was literally a village clown with a foul mouth in most of his movies.
