NiMet Forecasts Thunderstorms and Rain from Monday

Nigerian Meteorological Agency Forecasts Rainy and Thundery Weather Across Nigeria

On Sunday, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) issued a weather forecast in Abuja, indicating that the country will experience rainy and thundery conditions from Monday through Wednesday.

On Monday morning, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in northern states including Katsina, Sokoto, Kano, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba. Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected to develop over parts of Kaduna, Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Yobe, Taraba, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kebbi.

Intermittent rains are expected in the morning over parts of Benue, Niger, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kogi, and Kwara states. In the afternoon and evening, localized rains are predicted for the FCT, Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states.

Additionally, isolated rains are expected in the morning over parts of Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River states.

On Tuesday, NiMet forecasts isolated thunderstorms in Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba states during the morning, with further thunderstorms expected later in the day across several northern states, including Bauchi, Kaduna, Gombe, Yobe, Zamfara, Borno, Sokoto, Taraba, Kebbi, Kano, and Jigawa.

The agency also predicts intermittent rains for the morning over parts of Benue, Kogi, the FCT, and Nasarawa states, followed by localized rains in the afternoon across the FCT, Plateau, Benue, Kwara, and Nasarawa states.

For Wednesday, thunderstorms are anticipated in Kebbi, Bauchi, Sokoto, Borno, and Katsina states during the morning. In the afternoon and evening, isolated thunderstorms are expected in Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Adamawa, Kano, and Taraba states.

The FCT and Niger states are forecasted to experience morning rains, while isolated thunderstorms with rains are expected later in the day over Plateau, Nasarawa, and Niger states.
