
Olalade Ayelabola, a student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance walked by a model, completing an impressive 130.62 kilometers. The initial goal was to walk 120 kilometers, but after surpassing that target, Ayelabola went on to walk an additional 10 kilometers, totaling 2,058 laps within the sports center. Her feat marks a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest distance walked by a model.
Upon completing the challenge, Ayelabola expressed her joy and gratitude in an Instagram post:
“I did it, everyone! My record is set. There were difficulties but I stood through it. There were pains but I refused to cower. Thank you to everyone who helped me achieve this. Thank you @unilagnigeria @esdcunilag. Thank you, my beautiful models, and my entire team. I am grateful for it all. Thank you, Nigeria.”
Throughout the walk, Ayelabola showcased clothing designed by Nigerian designers, including pieces from UNILAG’s Theatre Arts Department.
However, the record is yet to be officially recognized and confirmed by the Guinness World Records..
