In a display of courage on May 7th, 2024, Nigerian Army troops foiled multiple kidnapping attempts by terrorists in the North-East and North-West. Their bravery prevented multiple kidnappings and ensured the safe return of victims to their loved ones.

Acting on reliable intelligence, troops encountered ISWAP fighters in Kulukawiya village, located in the Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State.

However, a swift response led to the elimination of one terrorist and the seizure of a loaded AK-47 rifle. During the pursuit, a child abducted by the fleeing terrorists was rescued and has been happily reunited with his father, Alhaji Musa.

The army troops, while demonstrating their dedication to public safety, responded quickly to a distress call from Agunu Dutse village, Kachia LGA, where residents faced a terrorist threat. Upon arrival, the troops conducted a search and rescue operation, successfully freeing six hostages—two women and four children—all unharmed. They have since rejoined their families.

In another operation, the troops on patrol were alerted about terrorists hiding in Amale village, Kaduna North LGA. Working alongside local vigilantes, the troops forced the terrorists to flee, abandoning their weapons. Recovered firearms included an AK-47 rifle, a homemade gun, and a machete.
