The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has identified restructuring as the solution to the problem of insecurity in Nigeria.

Speaking in Lagos during the celebration of his 6th installation anniversary, last weekend, Adams expressed his determination to strengthen the bond of unity and peace in Yorubaland.

He said his position as the generalissimo has been a strong motivation for his commitment to unity, peace and progress across the South-West.

His words: “I will always protect the interest of the Yoruba race, anytime, anywhere I am because that is the first and fundamental duty of the Yoruba generalissimo. What we are doing here today is never a jamboree, but a reflection of the sanctity and importance of the stool. It is not because we like partying but because it is the tradition of the position.”
On the appointment of the Aare-in-Council, he said it was to reposition the office of the Aare Ona Kakanfo.

He said: “As the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, I cannot do it alone, I will need people that can assist in making key decisions in the interest of the race. So, the Aareonakakanfo Chiefs in Council are the product of my good office and will complement my efforts and roles in advancing the course of the race.”
