The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, announced on Sunday, September 9, that it sealed a water factory in Delta State because it was producing and selling unregistered and unsafe miracle water using a fake NAFDAC registration number.

NAFDAC reported that the closed factory, situated at Km 4 DSC Expressway, Otokutu, Delta State, was producing and churning out the miracle water in cohort with a religious organisation, Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, headed by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto.

The agency, in a statement yesterday by its Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, announced that none of the products publicised and sold were registered with them.

Adeyeye affirmed that “NAFDAC wishes to notify the public of the activities of a religious organisation—Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries—that uses NAFDAC’s name to trick the innocent public.

“Currently, NAFDAC has been overwhelmed with demands from concerned citizens about Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, KM 5 Effurun, Sapele Road, Delta State, on a miracle water and miracle soap being promoted with healing and miracle claims and sold to naive members of the public by the miracle ministry.

The people who filed the complaint gave NAFDAC a list of products from the religious group to check if they were real. The products include; Miracle & Healing Water, the Miracle Water from the Pool of Bethsaida, A New Beginning Mount Camel Miracle Water, River Jordan Water, Water of Life, A New Beginning Pool of Bethsaida Water, Miracle Water from The Pool of Bethsaida (1L), and Father Smelt Perfume.
