Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer MohBad, revealed that upon arriving at his son's home the day he died, he found the body dumped by the stairs. Aloba called on the police to intensify the investigation into his son's death and expressed disappointment in the government's delayed response.
In a statement received today, Aloba recounted, “When I got to my son’s house, I met a very large number of people as if a special event was going on... I went straight into his apartment after seeing lots of people in the house, I knew something had happened to me."
Aloba described the horrifying scene in his son's room, where he discovered a duvet-cloth stained with blood. He mentioned finding MohBad's lifeless body by the staircase after being cleaned, dressed, and locally embalmed. Aloba emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into everyone present 48 to 72 hours before his son's death.
Expressing disappointment in the government's handling of the situation, Aloba stated, "The death of MohBad happened in his house... everyone that was with MohBad 48 to 72 hours before his death must be investigated."
He called on the government, Nigeria Police, human rights activists, and the public to take the matter seriously, demanding the perpetrators be brought to justice for renewed trust in the Nigerian system.
MohBad, a former Malian Music signee, died on September 12 at the age of 27, leading to controversies. The Lagos State Police Command inaugurated a special investigation team, and the autopsy was conducted on September 21, 2023. However, as of November and December 2023, the autopsy report had not been officially released by the authorities.
