Mbah Inaugurates New Members of Enugu Electoral Commission

Says they are charged with the responsibility of making sure that the rules and procedures governing the elections of the local government councils are conducted in a free, fair, and credible way.

 Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State revealed that his government will not waver in its resolve to strengthen the local government system for effective and quality service delivery.

The governor made the statement during the official swearing-in of the newly appointed members of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, in Enugu.

Mbah, while charging them with the responsibility of making sure that the rules and procedures governing the elections of the local government councils are adhered to, and that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, and credible way, stated that the people of the state will be expecting an impartial approach to the electoral guidelines without fear or favour.

Commenting on behalf of other ENSIEC members, the chairman, Professor Christian Chimdubem Ngwu, pledged to discharge their duties creditably by making sure that the rules of engagement are rigorously adhered to in the conduct of free and credible polls, among other duties.
