Man Accused of Cement Theft Jumps into Lagos Lagoon

A male adult, simply identified as Azeez, has reportedly jumped into the lagoon at the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge in Lagos State after allegedly being accused of stealing bags of cement. The incident occurred on Friday at about 10:45 a.m.

According to reports, a man was allegedly chasing Azeez, which led him to jump into the lagoon. 

Upon receiving a call about the incident, the director of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency operations in Lagos Central rushed to the scene and found Azeez's lifeless body.

Paramedics at the pre-hospital in Lagos confirmed his death, stating that Azeez had jumped into the lagoon in response to accusations of cement theft. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, noting that an investigation is underway.
