The Lagos State Police Command apprehended four individuals involved in orchestrating the supposed abduction of Agnes Ogbeh.

Among them were Agnes herself, along with Margaret Itodo (25), Esther Anyanwu (24), and Anthony Chinakwe (24).

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were confirmed via a statement accompanied by a video of the staged kidnapping, shared on his official X account.

The incident occurred on March 19, 2024, when Agnes, a resident of Akure, Ondo State, visited Lagos and was purportedly kidnapped. However, investigations revealed that the distressing video sent to her family in Akure was a hoax.

The alleged kidnappers demanded N5 million for Agnes's release.

Following the complaint, police detectives launched a thorough investigation, leading them to uncover the hideout where Agnes and the others were living freely.

Further inquiry exposed Margaret Itodo as a professional makeup artist hired to make the video appear authentic.

All four suspects confessed to their involvement and are awaiting arraignment pending the conclusion of the investigation.
