The ongoing demolition operation conducted by the Lagos State Building Control Agency kicked off at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, commencing with the Lateef Jakande Train Station.
Following this, the team proceeded to five other stations to carry out the demolition process, effectively clearing traders from the rail tracks to create a proper right of way for the trains.
The additional stations in question encompassed the Iju Railway Station, Ebute-Metta Railway Station, Yaba Railway Station, Agege Railway Station, and Mushin Railway Station.
The newsmen was present at the site, where enforcement officials used sledgehammers and cutting equipment to tear down extended walls near the road, dismantle shanties, and remove goods from makeshift shops and tables.
Previously, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had issued a two-day ultimatum to traders selling their goods on train tracks, urging them to vacate the area.
