Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced on Sunday that more than 170,000 polling unit results from the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25 had been posted on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

In addition, Okoye stated that the Bimodal Voter Registration Systems (BVAS) reconfiguration will be finished by Tuesday, March 14, in time for the state Assembly and gubernatorial elections on March 18.

He made this claim while participating in Sunday Politics on Channels Television.

He claims that no political party will be allowed access to the section of the BVAS that controls voter registration and electronic vote transmission.

He said, “As of the last time, over 170,000 of those results have been uploaded.

"In fact, the BVAS will not allow itself to be reconfigured or reset if the entire data isn’t pushed to the accreditation backend.

“I am sure that by Tuesday when we hope to complete the resettling of the BVAS for the purposes of the governorship and state assembly elections, the results in all the places where elections were conducted would’ve been pushed to the accreditation backend.”
