I am Committed to Peace in Imo, Nigeria, Uzodinma Affirms

He acknowledged the difficulties that Imo State has suffered due to insecurity and pledged continuous partnership with the leaders and key stakeholders in the area to achieve peace.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, yesterday, affirmed his dedication to achieving peace in Imo State and Nigeria in general. 

This was revealed to newsmen in Owerri by Uzodimma through his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachukwu.

The affirmation came after the governor met with the Ihube Peace Committee from the Okigwe council area of Imo State, chaired by the Emeritus Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Dr. Sunday Uche.

According to the press release, Governor Hope Uzodimma acknowledged the difficulties that Imo State has suffered due to insecurity in the Ihube area of Okigwe and pledged continuous partnership with the leaders and key stakeholders in the area to achieve the desired peace and harmony.

He appreciated the members of the Ihube Peace Committee chaired by the Emeritus Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Dr. Sunday Uche, for the courtesy visit and interest in what was being done by the government to achieve lasting peace and harmony in their area.

In his statement, Reverend Uche informed Uzodimma that they were dedicated, like other well-meaning members of the public, to ensuring that peace reigns in all parts of Imo State and Nigeria for sustainable development to flourish.

He thanked Governor Uzodimma for providing quality leadership in Imo State and advised him to do whatever is within his power, in partnership with leaders and key stakeholders, to make sure that peace reigns in Imo State and beyond.
