Hundreds of protesters gathered in various locations across Abuja, including the Berger Roundabout in Wuse Zone 6, starting as early as 9:06 AM, before marching to the MKO Abiola Stadium for the second day of a hunger protest.

The demonstration, led by activists such as VeryDarkMan, Deji Adeyanju, and Barr. Kingdom Okere, officially commenced at 12:02 PM, with participants chanting slogans like “End Bad Government” and “Bring Back Subsidy.”

Many demonstrators carried placards bearing messages such as “We are hungry” and “Tinubu, where is the change?”

Among those participating was 32-year-old Jane Hingir, who expressed her struggles to afford basic necessities. “I’ve been struggling to make ends meet, but it’s getting harder every day,” she stated, visibly emotional.

At 12:39 PM, the protesters began their march toward Eagle Square, determined to voice their grievances. The atmosphere was heightened by the presence of a helicopter flying over the stadium.

Although the turnout was smaller than the previous day, the movement appeared to be gaining momentum, with expectations of more participants joining the demonstration.

Security forces, including personnel from the Army Headquarters Garrison Command, NSCDC, and DSS, were deployed to the area. FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, visited the site earlier in the day.

However, protesters were not permitted to enter the stadium premises and instead demonstrated on the road leading to the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Expressway, resulting in a subdued atmosphere in the city, with many businesses and offices operating below capacity.
